Who is Bogleg, you might ask? My name comes from an old #MUD. I identify as a member of #GenX. I don't believe in pretending to know things I don't actually know. I consider myself to be a mystic #humanist and believe, to paraphrase John Muir, we should live in the world, not on it. My interests, and what you might find following me:
- #Gardening/#Cannabis
- #Kayak #fishing
- #Skiing
- #Reading (SF&F mostly)
- World events/#History
- #Astronomy
- PC #gaming

Above all, I believe in us.

Just one look at my feed over on Post.news and the number of followers I have (and who they are), it seems pretty clear it's very "Twitter-like." At a glance I might think my feed WAS Twitter - minus the cannabis content, and I am only following a few dozen people. Here feels more like a random Reddit RSS feed. Which is so much more relaxing.
I sure do dislike catching meetings for the upcoming work day after I go to bed and already planned out the next day in my head. I honestly think it's incredibly unprofessional to schedule meetings with less than a day's notice.
Good morning to readers. Hello from Ukraine.
Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands, but a barrage of missile strikes plunged much of the city into darkness over the last twenty four hours.
Forecast calls for a low of 24 degrees F in the capital tonight.
Carl Sagan returned to stardust on this day in 1996 and left us, besides his cosmic poetics, his timeless Baloney Detection Kit for critical thinking that should be in every classroom and every voting booth https://www.themarginalian.org/2014/01/03/baloney-detection-kit-carl-sagan/

While people are sharing The Narwhal article which documents the cozy relationship between the oil & gas industry and the Alberta government, it’s a good time to remind everyone that Kevin Taft wrote a book about this in 2018 - Oil’s Deep State: How the petroleum industry undermines democracy and stops action on global warming. @caseynewton's crystal ball: "By the end of 2023, Twitter no longer sets the daily news agenda by default for the entire US press. This will come as an enormous relief to many publishers, who have long wished their reporters wouldn’t spend so much time tweeting anyway"

I have this dream to create a #cannabis concentrates processing co-op. Sort of like one of those home brew co-ops. Gear provided that people can come in and rent/share to convert their flower into an extract of their choice. Dry sifter, freeze dryer, deep freezer, bubble washing machine, rosin press, closed loop systems, etc.

Beautiful but freezing day here at #BeaverCreek. Got a half day of turns in and caught this gorgeous view of the Gore range.

The Christmas tree in Kyiv Ukraine’s grand central square, 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022.

Heartbreaking.
