We academics often complain about the proverbial "Reviewer 2" in the blind peer review process. Reviewer 2 not only hates your paper but generally misses the point and makes criticisms that are impossible to address. But I just want to say that it was a pleasure to be Reviewer 1 on a paper and open an email this morning to see that the editor had accepted that paper and not let Reviewer 2 sink some pretty decent work. #shitacademicssay #gratitude

My takeaways from night #2 of the #DNC: (1) #Emhoff' gave the most important speech of the night. He did a great job humanizing his spouse VP #HarrisWalz (2) The rockin' roll call and the visual created by linking to the Milwaukee rally continues to build the image of a joyous movement that goes well beyond the United Center and invites people to join in. (3) Presidents Biden and Obama are now the speakers at the afterparty for the faithful - not in primetime. #harris2024

My takeaways from night one of the #dnc 1. AOC will be a serious contender for the presidential nomination next time the Dems have an open contest. 2. Hillary Clinton is really quite a good speaker when she can be herself. 3. The country will soon fall in love with Gwen Walz. Watching her get emotional during Hillary's speech was quite compelling.
