@gruber No case, but that is a recent phenomenon since I moved from an iPhone 12 to an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I have very large hands - with the smaller base model phones, the texture of the sides felt slicker and the phone didn't fit as well in my hands, so I used a case to compensate. With the Pro Max, the texture of the side rails feels naturally more "sticky" on my hands, so I feel more confident holding it bare, and the size fits perfectly in my hand.

@csb @james On the podcasts that do host ad reads, I think they are great and effective ads, and if I don't want to hear them they usually have natural segues in and out so I can fast forward without issues.

Unfortunately, more and more podcasts instead are using garbage dynamic ad insertion that will randomly cut an ad into a podcast between two hosts speaking or even inside a sentence a host is saying, they are garbage low tier ads, and they run random lengths. Screw those ads.

@viticci The remaster looks amazing, but the Trilogy still looks good and runs really well on Steam Deck via PrimeHack!
@caseynewton @zoeschiffer This really is just Idiocracy Inc at this point
@caseynewton and @zoeschiffer have dug up comedy gold from Twitter’s Slack channels once again. This could have been a Dril tweet.
@molly0xfff We did an awful job of managing customers’ money, so you should let us put rules on ourselves that will DEFINITELY prevent us from screwing up again!

Everyone: Hey, it’s Adele at the Super Bowl!

Me and the people I follow: Eddy!

@danvpeterson I loved this era of Mac app design, stuff like this and Delicious Library were both extremely usable and beautiful to look at. Nowadays everything is all about empty white space and just feels devoid of personality.

Ivory by Tapbots is launching today.

This app marks the beginning of a new era for Mastodon clients on Apple platforms. It raises the bar in this category, but there’s still work to be done.

I reviewed Tweetbot 1.0 on MacStories in 2011; 12 years later, here is my review of Ivory 1.0:

Ivory for Mastodon Review: Tapbots Reborn

There’s an intangible, permeating quality about Tapbots apps that transcends features and specs: craftsmanship. With Ivory, launching today on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, you can instantly appreciate that level of care and refinement that the Texas-based duo is well known for after more than a decade on the App Store. But there’s

Ivory is out! By far and away my favorite Mastodon app.

Before @ivory, Mastodon felt like a Twitter clone that I wasn’t really “getting”, bouncing between apps and not finding any that fit me.

With Ivory, Mastodon became not only a drop-in replacement for Twitter for me, but an upgrade that’s actually so much better than Twitter that I don’t think about it at all anymore.

I immediately subscribed to the highest Ivory plan. They deserve our support!
