This is a great video comparison between the GameCube, Wii, and Switch versions of Metroid Prime. Truly showcases how the Remastered version is almost a full-on remake of the game.

Also begs the question: once I'm done with Prime Remastered, am I going to wait for Prime 2, or continue via emulators? 🤔

@viticci Wow that’s impressive! Might be tempted to pick this up
@viticci It's interesting that the Wii version seemed to have been a downgrade compared to the GameCube in some aspects. It's especially apparent with the water physics at 1:48 in the video.
@viticci The remaster looks amazing, but the Trilogy still looks good and runs really well on Steam Deck via PrimeHack!
@BeeksElectric @viticci been toying with grabbing some roms for my Deck. Not sure I trust the places that serve them. Any tips?
@viticci Oh man, it would be so going back to an emulated port knowing it could look this good now…
@viticci Impressive! I was definitely playing the Remastered version and thinking "this looks about how I remember it", so it's hitting the correct level of generational improvement I guess...
@viticci love this game so much, having a blast playing back through all these years later. It was gorgeous for its time, but is such pleasure trekking back and forth through the regions. Prime 2 can’t come soon enough and I never finished 3!
@viticci I’ve never played any of the Metroid Prime games and I’m incredibly excited for this to be my first. 🥲

@viticci I had just started playing on Dolphin last week (for the first time!) and now I’m torn.

Do I experience the original first, and then play the remaster? Or do I simply jump in with what seems like a masterpiece in its own right?

(I’m a huge Metroid fan but I mostly skipped the GCN for Xbox back in the day, regrettably)

@viticci considering how good the remastered version is, it is worth waiting. Especially if they add quality of life improvements on top of the revamped graphics.
@viticci makes you dream about what Retro could do with the hardware of a Switch 2.
