I'm not letting Tories off the hook, but I'm slightly relieved. At first glance, this budget looks less economically, socially and environmentally mad than I'd feared.

It's still a bag of shit, obviously, but at least an end to Truss/ERG/IEA lunacy. And it's still gonna be bloody hard for many.

But did you notice the fiscal recovery is mostly predicated on tax rises happening in 2025, after Tories (who caused most of this) have been kicked out?

So letting Labour clear up the mess again.
