Imagine being Elon Musk, or Donald Trump, or Boris Johnson. You have more money than you know what to do with. You could literally afford to go to whatever paradise you want and spend the days of your one life doing whatever you please.
They came so tantalisingly close to having more fulfilling and carefree lives than 99.99% of humans who have ever lived, but instead they want the masses to fear and adore them.
And they are utterly miserable, because nothing will fill the void, and the more they try, the more they debase themselves in front of billions, and the people they most need to respect them probably think theyâre losers.
Idiots. Fools. Losers.
Musk is the worst of them. Read some Iain M Banks books, didnât understand any of then, decided to save the world by becoming a solar power and electric vehicle magnate with space colonies.
But instead he is approaching old age as the proprietor of a bankrupt nazi chat room, and none of his kids will speak to him.
How can you have so many advantages and yet fuck up so amazingly completely?
I have my weekend blog post ready. I always put it here first. The first few people will get that error. Just wait a minute and try again.
I plan to demonstrate that any democratic governmentâby its very nature and under its own termsâwill have a dangerous anti-democratic opposition because eliminating the opposition cannot be done using democratic means.

(1) too many people have what political psychologists call an anti-democratic personality and
(2) once you eliminate the opposition, you cease to be a democracy.

A judge has ruled that a former county clerk who refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples in Kentucky must pay up. Kim Davis must pay a total of $260,104 in fees and expenses to attorneys who represented one couple. Thatâs in addition to $100,000 in damages a jury says the former Rowan County clerk should pay the couple who sued. The Lexington Herald-Leader reports attorneys for Davis had argued that the fees and costs sought by the attorneys were excessive. But U.S. District Judge David L. Bunning disagreed and said Davis must pay since the men prevailed in their lawsuit. Attorneys for Davis were expected to appeal the ruling.
It's stunning that the technical leader of the World Health Organization's COVID-19 response, Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, publically reaffirmed that COVID-19 is still a global health threat and still a pandemic, yet hardly any media outlet has covered this except for this one.

Once again, Will Bunch is telling truth about rampaging extremism that is targeting democracy and journalism.
And he's calling out his peers to wake the hell up and give a damn beyond occasionally noticing.
The world could be heading into a dark age of global dictatorship, and if that happens, American journalists will have been complicit, if not cooperative.
