Dear Mark Carney,
I am so distressed by your “tentative deal” with Danielle Smith. How on earth could you not include the participation of our Premier David Eby in the talks. A Northern BC pipeline to ship oilsands dilbit sludge to giant tankers awaiting on our beautiful West Coast and then transport these tankers through a wildly unpredictable channel of pristine and irreplaceable coastline.
NO! IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! I WILL fight you EVERY step of the way.
I will stand with all first nations to stop this madness.
Who will pay for this nonsense, the Canadian public? We paid $40billion for the Trans Mountain Pipeline already. The idea of further costs being covered by an Industrial Carbon Tax and Carbon Capture infrastructure is insane. We are supposed to be transitioning AWAY from Fossil Fuels and embracing renewable energy full stop.
Give your head a shake man. You became PM for your stance on environmental protection. Commence your green initiative NOW.
Regards,
Very concerned citizen of the world.

@verdantsquare I’ve thought this many times. The beauty of using a SpaceX rocket is that it is mission accomplished even if just the firing sequence is commenced. 🫤😬 💥
I just cast my ballot in #bcelxn2024 It was very pleasurable. No strategic voting guilt. Just the best candidate in my riding that needs to be in the Legislature. I voted with my heart and mind at ease for the candidate that best represents my feelings for what is best for British Columbia. The #bcgreens clear thinking and compassionate leader Sonia Furstenau. #bcpoli

Right now, most Israelis are in full-fledged war mode: people on the Israeli right are calling for outright ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza; those on the center and left say that civilian deaths are unfortunate but inevitable.

But it wasn't always like this.

From Peace to Justice

Despite what outsiders may think, most Israelis and Zionists genuinely long for peace. But peace alone was never going to be enough to end the conflict.

One Small Detail

"A slaughter isn't a slaughter if those being slaughtered are at fault, if they've been quietly and effectively dehumanized--in the media, through policy--for years. If nobody is a civilian, nobody can be a victim."

Opinion | Even Before the Israel-Hamas War, Being Palestinian Was Controversial

The task of the Palestinian is to audition for empathy and compassion. To prove that we deserve it.

Canada’s (BC) coast is in a similar predicament. The returning salmon are crucial to the entire ecosystem. The populations are very low and extremely vulnerable to rising ocean temperatures, sea lice and escaped Atlantic Salmon from open net fish farms.

When a elephant dies, all the scavengers arrive to eat the carcass, which makes for quite a show out on the savannah.

This perhaps explains why earlier this week we witnessed the 2nd of what are being referred to as “presidential” primary debates.

The Hyenas Gather

They've got nothing and they know it: scavengers consume the corpse of a dead elephant. A recap of the twisted pageant we're still calling "primary debates."

Why are banks allowed to have shareholders at all? Doing so only serves to privatize the gains, and then, when a bank goes too far in maximizing shareholder returns, socialize the losses.
