Florida MAGA Gov Desantis is signing HB 7 to "ban teachers from making students feel guilt or shame about their race because of historical events."

I've said this before.

Some white Americans were abolitionists, and many were enslavers. If learning about America's history of racism makes you feel guilty, then you need to explain why you associate more with enslaver guilt than with abolitionist pride.

Might just be that you're telling on yourself.

@georgetakei It’s weird to live in a time when people say their bad intentions/outlooks out loud and there is no real consequence. You used to have to lie about that stuff.

President Biden cites facts that white supremacy terror is America’s greatest domestic security threat—and MAGAs lose their minds.

Here’s the thing.

I’m Muslim. I don’t feel attacked when people condemn the Taliban because Taliban do not represent Muslims and I proudly take the lead in condemning Taliban terrorism.

If you’re MAGA white and feel personally attacked when Biden condemns white supremacy terror—you are absolutely telling on yourself.

180 days left until Halloween. For those of you who don’t follow me elsewhere online, Halloween is my favourite holiday. I talk about it regularly in October and periodically throughout the rest of the year. #Halloween #Today
My (dormant) Twitter account is so unimportant that it still has a blue check I don't pay for (and never will)...

There were more antisemitic incidents in 2022 than in any other year since Anti-Defamation League (ADL) began tracking them in 1979.

That cannot be tolerated.

As a member of the Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, I'm dedicated to protecting our Jewish communities from all forms of hate.

I hope there's a whistleblower somewhere who'll let us know if the billionaire who's handed Clarence "gifts" worth millions of dollars wrote them off as business expenses.

When you have lost NPR, the most benign and fair member-funded news organization in the USA, you know you are making bad choices. Get off Twitter; save Tesla.

The worst thing in the world is watching someone you deeply love go through a real dark night of the soul, a deep and harrowing existential crisis, and not knowing what to do or say to help them through it.
Some situations are, to put it bluntly, just shit to deal with. Loving someone and going through it with them means acknowledging that you don't have the answers or the key to the issue they're facing. It means being helpless and suffering it with them without being "wise" or pious about "what they need to do". That's the hardest thing. Accepting you don't know and can't fix it. Hurting with them. I hate it. But sometimes it's all you have. And if you love someone sometimes it's all you can do.
