An angry guy that likes Linux, Games, Gadgets and Anime/Cartoons. Sometimes I wear a fictionally real tinfoil hat. Kemonomimi fan, however Nekomimi above all.

Past weekend I saw a video of someone who tried Arch #Linux

I always wanted to try it as well but now I feel like I don't "need" to.

I'd really appreciate some feedback.

Like, I remember the struggle in early 2000's with setting up Conky and display drivers... Arch just feels like a distro that hasn't had default systems cemented yet.

I will give it a go at some point, but with how far we've come in Linux, I don't feel like using Arch when others worked so hard to make Linux user friendlier.

I have no sympathy for a COMPANY selling out. I DO have sympathy for the employees.

This Subnautica 2 debacle is a prime example of a team that got a hit game with original Subnautica, sold out "because money is needed for game dev" and then bad things happen.

You made a great game BEFORE selling out. You got greedy. So NO sympathy from me towards the company. What made you think you would end up better off than others that sold out?

First #Linux Issue sorted on new PC. #Steam won't start up. Well it starts but there is no UI.

Seems like you need to disable GPU Acceleration for the Steam Client. It's an old issue that Steam has with certain #AMD GPU's

Thanks to Blk_Mage_Ctype on Steam communities page.

 Sharc is built and Running!

My new PC (Named in honour of my brother and his gamer nic) is working. I installed #Ubuntu 24.04 and IMMEDIATELY removed snapd.

Specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Sapphire RX 9070XT
Gigabyte Gaming X870 Wifi7
32GB DDR5 GSkill CL28 Ram
MSI Coreliquid A13 360 AIO
MSI MAG RB50GL 850W PSU
Gigabyte C301 Glass V2 case
Sandisk 480GB SATA SSD

  So happy.

I think we need to normalise calling current generative system (aka "AI") what it really is. This whole marketing sales talk of a " #AI system " just isn't true.
It's isn't "thinking". It's taking info already on the internet and presenting it in a way that makes people believe it is thinking.

I propose calling it gensys.

Don't care about the details. I'm just glad someone stipulated to some degree that Tim Sweeney has to STFU.

It's fun reading his tweets to see the disconnect from reality and the fake altruism. It's nice to have him as an example to show people that even with alot of money and some skill, you can still be a useless person.

I'm convinced it's not possible to love tech without also hating tech.

My bad luck has struck again.

Went to buy the last 2 parts for my new PC build. They didn't have my case in stock.

  *internal screaming*

Case will maybe only be back in stock next week and I can expect delivery from the 16th.

  *internal screaming intensifies*

Sigh... It's torture to look at the parts and can't build yet.
Oh yeah... My depression is also telling me something will go wrong when I eventually build it.

Don't know why I haven't posted this before, but sometimes for work I drive past the Going Merry from #OnePiece

Never seen them busy filming but was still cool to drive past and see the ship.
