My first ever Harlequin Ducks!!!

I used to dislike WInter birding, but now I appreciate the hearty northern birds that only make it to Wisconsin in January or February.

Spent a few minutes this morning warming myself in the sunny spot by the window wile working on the Stringbean project! Lots of color switches on this little guy, so it's slow going for sure!

We spent some of the time this afternoon playing board games and avoiding the snow.

Planted is fun, cute, and has a great (under-used) theme - houseplants!!! The game mechanics work well, and with final scores of 40 & 39, it seemed pretty well balanced!

It's our favorite way to combine the love of #birdwatching & #BoardGames. We use a house rule and allow bonus points if we play a bird which we've seen during the last year. It's a great way to relive fun birding moments from the last 12 months!

Positive people & influences are amazing to be around!

Despite the chilly weather, the bird walk with the BIPOC Birding Club of Milwaukee was a blast. It was also put together by the group Nearby Nature Milwaukee, and I got to meet some individuals from Rural Urban Flow and the Milwaukee County Zoo.

Can't wait to do it again!
