Are you thinking about doing the #30DayMapChallenge, but don't know where to start? SAME.

This is why I created a brainstorming doc to organize all my ideas. Feel free to save a copy and use it for your own! More maps shared means the world is a mappier place! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1auCdPIG1p811-MJ0CmxmmE_CVDL33yYYbMM_MjLq0SE/edit?usp=sharing

The Kickstarter closes in one week, and the support from the community has been pretty unbelievable so far. This is the last time this particular set of cards will be printed, so I hope that no one accidentally misses out! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pinakographos/reviving-the-projection-collection?ref=cc1psg

Someday years from now, when I've had a chance to rest and recover, I'll *maybe* collect a new set of designs into an expansion set. But, we'll see if the fad has faded by then. In any case this is the last run for the original card set.

Wrapping up the North American Cartographic Information Society (NACIS) Conference #nacis2023 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this evening after three full days of amazing presentations and connecting with incredible carto-colleagues. This conference fuels me professionally, providing me with so much cartographic inspiration and warmth from friends who offer encouragement, act as sounding boards, and entertain diving into deep conversations during 10 minute session breaks.
Reminder for those of you going to #NACIS2023 next week! I am one of the New Attendee Ambassadors. Questions about meandering your first time at NACIS? Come find me! I can help. πŸ—ΊοΈ
After 75+ projects and ~14 yrs freelancing as Tombolo Maps & Design on my own, I am incredibly excited to bring on my 1st regular contractor, Rachael Huerta Carpenter, who will help me take on the bigger and more frequent projects that have been coming my way! https://www.tombolomapsdesign.com/

My most recent font is almost done! I need to make the numbers, glyphs, and do some refinement - then releasing this into the wild. (I named it Equinox). This toot brought to you by the letter β€œU” (which has changed a bit since this video yesterday.

Waaaait for it! New Fantasy map! I took a photo of sandstone rock in Nevada, and converted it into a fantasy map of a place called "Vestravn." This has become an annual project for me, as this is my third year in a row of visiting Red Rock Canyon and creating a map from a photo of its beautiful sandstone. #cartography #fantasy #fantasymap #cartographer #gis #adobeillustrator #graphicdesigner
The Google doodle today is of Marie Tharp β€” pretty neat. Marie Tharp (July 30, 1920 – August 23, 2006) was an American geologist and oceanographic cartographer who, in partnership with Bruce Heezen, created the first scientific bathymetry map of the Atlantic Ocean floor while at #ldeo #columbia in the 1950’s. Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory has a visiting researcher fellowship in her name to this day. #womeninstem #geoscience #MappingMondays https://www.google.com/?fpdoodle=1&doodle=240342495&hl=en&gl=us&ictx=3&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjciuXz0L_7AhVcFjQIHVBdA5EQPQgR
