Former librarian. Artist in hibernation. Chronically ill/disabled. Still a #librarian in my soul.

A few things I’m interested in: books, equality, #art, music, #knitting when my hands let me, #PrisonReform, #PrisonAbolition, Evie the cat, and kind people.

@anti_disease @novid Anyone who thinks brain fog is a mercy has clearly never experienced it.
@beadsland thanks for this thread.

Evie was the most beautiful little soul. It's been a week and the grief is crushing me.

@MerlyBlack I'm so sorry. Thank you for the kindness and sending a hug to you as well.

After 3 years and the loss of 3 people, my cat is what finally broke me.
I've never been able to process the loss of someone. I don't move through it. I don't know that it would have helped me, but we aren't taught these things. One of the largest inevitable events of a life and we're grasping for anything. Directionless.
I live mostly in my bed (on normal days due to chronic illness) and now I am truly alone in this room.

@sabija Jerry is beautiful. ❤️
@augieray As someone with ME/CFS, brain fog is not a blessing. I have a masters degree and loved my job as a librarian. Now there are days (many of them) when I cannot find the most simple of words or remember what someone said to me a minute before. I hope the best for people with long-COVID, but it will be a hard road. Also, all of the other body systems (pulmonary, etc.) affected by COVID. A mass-disabling event. It’s astounding to watch it being minimized.
@cassolotl Don’t know why it’s happening, but had the same problem. After lots of unsuccessful troubleshooting on my own and with the provider plus a new router didn’t fix the problem, I got a portable hotspot that I use for devices in my bedroom. More money, but not astronomical so it was worth it. Hoping you find a solution that works for you.

I just explained to Evie (my cat) exactly how brave she was for jumping onto the bed which is 3 times as tall as her because she takes a few minutes to psych herself up to jump up here several times a day.

This is how I’m doing after 3 years of isolation as someone with a whacked out immune system during a poorly handled pandemic.

@[email protected] I know the urge to push through. Hoping you have an ok day tomorrow.
