Saying on the radio this morning that there is a generational split between those up to 24 who sympathise more with Harry and Meghan and those older who support the traditional royal family. A Venn diagram showing the intersection of those of both age ranges who couldn't give a monkey's would be interesting to see.

Over 80% of the world’s population & 99% of Americans & Europeans live under "sky glow," where light pollution affects wildlife, human health & our ability to observe celestial objects.

As we lose the chance to look up & peer back in time at once vivid stars, we risk forgetting our place as a single species in the magnificent symphony of life. https://education.nationalgeographic.org/resource/light-pollution #space #science #nature #SharedPlanet

Light Pollution

People all over the world are living under the nighttime glow of artificial light, and it is causing big problems for humans, wildlife, and the environment. There is a global movement to reduce light pollution, and everyone can help.

As a human rights lawyer who has done extensive immigration work, let me make something absolutely clear.

Asylum is legal immigration.
There's no "port of entry" requirement.
There's no "visa" requirement.
There's no "first country" requirement.
You enter the United States, and you apply for asylum.

Because asylum is legal immigration. Period.

Period.

Last working day for a week. This morning I added to my tally of hours over this last week spent taking and splitting deliveries in the warehouse, this afternoon a shed load of invoices to pay while working from home - my dog's help is making this a long job. Be glad to get done.
Was going to have what would have been my 6th day entirely off drinking since the first UK lockdown what seems likes decades ago, but the sun was out on a crisp December day and my dog led me the long way round to the the Waterside Bar. Ah well, you're a long time dead.

My drupal website seems to have failed while I've been busy elsewhere.Be a shame to lose all the stories of running and swimming with dogs and other friends, and by myself, but it could do with a make over. So long since I've bothered with more than the basics not sure I can be arsed relearning it all, may just settle for starting something new on Squarespace or the like.
Completed Cragg Runner's 21 mile event from Hebden Bridge. Slow under snow as it made some of the downhill sections a bit treacherous (and if I don't run fast downhill these days I don't do it anywhere), but it did make the navigation much easier. Given everything over a half-marathon feels like an ultra to me now, whenever I complete one of these tough days it makes me feel like I've snatched something from old age and death.
