I hear a lot of talk that the #fediverse doesn't use #algorithms. But is there anything that would stop an instance from providing curation through their own implementation? In other words, there is nothing forcing an instance to implement the reference server right?

I should add one little fun fact, which is that I recently became very interested in speed running Celeste, which has been an absolute blast. Celeste is such a great game so I have been enjoying the deep dive into it.

I am a software engineer for a medium sized medical education company, I am also a licensed airframe and powerplant mechanic (airplanes) though I don't spend much time around planes anymore. I mostly spend my time designing and 3d printing things I could probably just get on Amazon watching #movies (love b-movies) working on my #homelab and playing games.

Nothing particularly interesting but I promise I am fun!

So, running more than 40 disparate #docker containers on my #homelab would anyone suggest splitting them up into relevant groups with VMs in order to enforce a little more separation?
