Top publishing CEO says people are reading more because streaming services are too expensive: ‘You’d get 2 books every month’ for the cost of Netflix https://finance.yahoo.com/news/top-publishing-ceo-says-people-074444013.html via @YahooFinance
That is nice, but if I go to my public library, I get even more books for free. Cost less than the bookstore AND Netflix.

@22 That does suck. What's the TOS? Whatever goes in their DB, they own?
Wasn't sure, so googled it
"All the content ... cc-wiki licensed, ... to be shared and remixed. ... while intentionally permissive, does require attribution."
It could be argued that they are letting someone to "remix" the data. How does one add attribution to that? Per author basis, or something like "A Stackoverflow Remix" or what? I have a lot of my voice on that site too, though I'm more ambivalent about it.
Attached: 1 image Folks are treating the recent tech layoffs as something spontaneous. They were not. Apparently the current layoffs were orchestrated by hedge funds. This hedge fund demanded that the big tech companies lay people off because they were being paid too much. Let that one sink in: a hedge fund manager saying that you're being paid too much. Note that TCI is demanding that Google lay off more people.
We've always known they would eventually take over. Bow to your robot overlords. #ai #aiart #bots #automation #news
