I allegedly teach political science. Immigrant incorporation & refugee resettlement policy with offshoots into human rights, climate change, and religious politics. I like running in the woods, dark beers, and sci-fi, too.

Hi all. I’m starting a discussion forum for human #migration and #mobility scholars in my region to encourage and support collaboration. (Btw, pls check out @Prof_Mirya ‘s MHAWS. I love its energy and purpose.)

I’m being pushed to use Facebook (puke), so I’m looking for alternatives. It should be good for collaboration, user-friendly, and private.

The list so far:
• Mastodon private server
• Substack - can that be collaborative?
• Slack

Does anyone have suggestions?

I’m the Prince from ‘Two Princes,’ and I have also written a tell-all

Prince Harry can understand what the Spin Doctors were singing about.

Now I’m worried polisci majors are going to start asking me a dozen times to change their grade.
"Look, I know this dynamite under my bed has no function, but it's only fair that I give the detonator to the person that doesn't think my house should be standing anymore in a few months. Nothing can be done about it."
@TheUSASingers @monatemchin “Don’t ascribe to malice what can be plainly explained by incompetence.”
@eL_ABC Don't move to Greenland.
Greg Abbot obviously does not believe that the immigrants, whose lives he screws with for fun, are human. No one who can detach themselves from the fact of the humanity of those migrants deserves to be in any position of power, at the very least. Using vulnerable humans as political stunts is the act of a psychopath.

This is still con artist George Santos’ profile header.

Reminder that the NY Post reported that Santos’ fraud was a “running joke” in GOP circles.

Elise Stefanik is just as big of a fraud as he is.

We (w/@donmoyn) argue in the Post that Flexible Savings Accounts are confusing, difficult to use, and enact a high time tax. They’re also benefits that skew to the highest earners.

How a tool that’s supposed to help you save could be wasting your time

It's not just that you have to use it or lose it. The flexible savings account is a regressive benefit that wastes time and money.

Be sure to catch the end of this clever NASA "climate spiral" video showing monthly global temperature changes between 1880 and 2021
