Yes, in my opinion, Mastodon is really well suited for updates.
But for support/community space, I think Fluxer would be better.
Maybe something that could be done in the future?

Is your best bet I guess, do check out the others too.
With FreeTube, YouTube can still see your video requests, but it can no longer track you using cookies or JavaScript. And Your subscriptions, playlists and history are stored locally on your computer and never sent out.
Impossible to leave pretty much no trace sadly.
