@starbreaker I actually also watched Key Largo today as well, maybe you were thinking of that? Casablanca is Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.
@jjatria I am not saying it got bad reviews, but it wasn't universally acclaimed by any measure, and all of the reviews from the time seem to praise the actors over the movie itself as far as everything I have compiled over the last day.
@starbreaker I am not the biggest fan of the 15 beat structure, so to compare this hodgepodge of a screenplay to anything contemporaneous to current trends would be a bit garbage on my part.
Is this the best place to talk about how Casablanca isn't that good? I kind of feel that the original reviewers, steeped in the detritus of WWII as well as the constantly churning output from Hollywood were right for once when this came out.
I can take this discussion elsewhere if that is better, but I doubt it will come up, since this has nothing to do with anyone posting Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji, French, or Code.
