@georgetakei Yes, not just casual, unplanned cruelty, but premeditated, apparently for the lulz. I am actually a religious person. I think one day he'll have the opportunity to feel his shame for this in front of those he harmed.
@georgetakei Crying baby is definitely the worse alternative, but at the same time a lot of hurt feelings could've been smoothed over by explaining what the machine was, why it was on, etc. No one flies with an infant for fun. I can assure you that.
@georgetakei Yeah, I get it, but you have to work pretty hard to end up in prison over a failure to pay. Normally you just owe money with interest and penalty. Given the propensity of software and accountants, this is a rather distorted view, IMO. Also, there's this public benefit for paying taxes... schools, roads, fire, police, etc.
@TomSwirly @waldoj Constitutionally protected speech vs the Citizen's United ruling are not equivalent. Don't conflate the two.
@waldoj Just like the issue with the univ presidents, if you believe in free speech, then you must accept abhorrent free speech and defend it. It's fine to speak your opinion against it. I agree with the univ presidents. I agree with the ACLU taking on free speech cases. I hate the NRA. Ironically, they are defending your right to speak this very opinion.

The House GOP has blocked yet another appropriations bill, letting it die in the Rules Committee, which far-right extremists control. Unable to gain control of their own agenda, the GOP leadership threw up its hands and sent everyone home. A full week before Thanksgiving. Look folks, we need to do everything to vote out these losers who do nothing but obstruct and shutdown. November 2024 is our chance to do so.
If you’re thinking about backing Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. because he’s a Kennedy, remember that the other Kennedys have openly denounced his candidacy. If you respect the Kennedys, respect their opinions about RFK, Jr.
