Hey, #fediverse help:

what do you think about #discord as chat app for a newsroom and in general as group chat for small teams?

@piero
I dislike it since it proprietary software. I believe journalists play a key role in raising awarness about negative consequences comming from closed source codes and centralized services and what alternatives we have.

As an alternative I would suggest @matrix
has they have a great room directionary.
You can encrypt and also do calls.

You can open several rooms and group them within matrix to an community page to be easy to navigate.

@paulfree14 @matrix great, thanks!!!

@matrix @piero
in case you get confused:
#matrix is the underlying protocol. Several programs have intecreated it.
My favourit one is:
https://about.riot.im/
their mobile app is also great

If you don't need/want the directionary and are just looking for your team etc. #xmpp is also a great standart.
It has also nice webclients and mobile apps.
