I used to have a private board with a list of all of the Projects To Do so that my #adhd scatterbrain won't forget about them when I get new projects.

Unfortunately, it's on #Taiga, and apparently, starting next year, you can't have private projects on the flagship site unless you pay.

Rather than migrating the stuff to local Taiga instance (which I will probably need to do with a few other projects), I recreated the whole thing as a #Joplin notebook! Probably better choice anyway, because this is likely more suitable for more freeform notekeeping. Taiga is more dev-focused.

Also Taiga doesn't have a mobile client. Joplin has mobile sync!

A small rediscovery from my archive.
In June 2023, during Alberta’s extreme wildfire season, I created a day-by-day animation using NASA FIRMS fire-hotspot data.

The animation shows how quickly ignition points spread across the province — almost like watching the forest "breathe fire" in slow motion.
It didn’t get much attention on LinkedIn… but this feels like the right place to share it again.

Exploring large-scale landscape structures with a simple Principal Component Analysis (PCA) applied to a MODIS composite.

The PCA reveals striking contrasts in surface materials, vegetation patterns, and terrain transitions across western Canada — from the Rocky Mountains into the prairies and the Canadian Shield.
Even with moderate-resolution MODIS data, spectral variability produces a surprisingly rich view of regional geography and geomorphology.
