"Platform economy" might be more accurate. Some people use the term "platform capitalism", too.
@Euphoria I guess some people like or share social media posts without even clicking the links in them, or they post comments without reading the material.
On Mastodon, however, many people seem to really read the articles/publications.
@stefanieschulte I wish I could say that I never share something I haven't read in entirely, but it wouldn't be true. I try to remember to /say/ that I haven't read it if I haven't, i.e., "Putting this here so I'll remember to read it later" or "when I have a better connection", as I have issues with pages loading due to my connection sometimes. It can be especially difficult on Twitter, with such strict character limitations. Thank goodness I've got Mastodon now!
I post often urls for future reading and here on Mastodon I'm using Toki Pona hashtags to be able to find them back...

I did a partial tokiponization on the name Mastodon and I keep using it #Matodon because it's unique in that way ...

The strange thing is that it actually works quite well ...
it was designed to calm down the thought process by its inventor/inventrix during his/her gender incertainty period.
Anno 2003 Christian Richard became Sonja Elen Kisa (later Sonja Lang) and the rest is history ....
in mid-2001 the Toki Pona language hit the internet and it's still around

Well, I think that's German, which I don't understand, either, nor do I understand Esperanto. It's interesting that people invent new languages that never seem to catch on. I think people would have to /want to/ understand each other for one of them to work.

It's amusing to see the confusion of this author about the sex change of the creator of Toki Pona
every single edition has a bit more or less information about Toki Pona and his creator, but Ulrich Matthias is one of the first people to even mention Toki Pona in print.
jan Sonja finally published an official Toki Pona book in 2014 ... under the name Sonja Lang
but I'm quite sure the langage took hold thanks to jan Pije 's effort to create a course.

I've studied a couple of languages besides my native one and have noticed that it does me good sometimes to spend an entire day (or more) using one of them.
I speak it with my dog :=)
and I turn to it when I'm sleepy as well ...
