Mastodon somehow failed to learn from Diaspora that if "where do I sign up?" isn't a URL, but a dissertation, people won't bother. It's a hard problem, but if it's not solved then there was no point in solving the other problems.
@embolalia maybe we don't want people that can't read directions on here? I don't believe this platform is intended to appeal to the lowest common denominator. If people want dumb, fast and easy, stay on Facebook or go back to MySpace.
