@dysfun my favorite autosub system is the one on reddit videos, it is just so damn determined to find English in any video that it will interpret random background sounds, music, etc. as English words

@dysfun It likes to do that awful AI speech translation thing when I watch something in Dutch. And after turning it off and going to watch something in English, it decides to translate the subtitles into Dutch.

That somebody might just want the original audio and subtitles in the same language has apparently not occurred to the knuckleheads at Mountain View.

@pndc in this case, it was from TV and they hard subbed the foreign, so the YT subs cover up the hard subs with gibberish, helpfully
