Includes link to this brilliant-but-boring #NB information page - https://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/departments/ocmoh/cdc/content/vectorborne_andzoonotic/tick-borne-diseases.html And now I desperately want a similar page for #BC. (Going to look for it now.)

‘You’re going to be naked’: Thorough tick checks the new norm as parasitic pests spread | CBC News

British Columbia Centre for Disease Control #BCCDC has good set of pages with information regarding #tick borne illnesses - https://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/tick-borne-diseases There are links to other resources including eTick.ca which uses your image of a tick to identify and report tick species: 82,014 reports of ticks on humans!

They also have mapped where ticks which might carry Lyme disease could be found - https://maps.bccdc.ca/Lyme/

Tick-borne diseases

#PSA: A quick healthy outdoors note about avoiding #tick bites (and thereby tick-borne diseases):

Before going out:

* Wear light-coloured clothes, long-sleeves.
* Tuck your shirt into your pants, and your pants into your socks/boots.

After going out:

* Do a full body check, particularly in crevasses, dark, damp, or hairy spots, on
* yourself
* kids
* pets
* outdoor gear

Be aware ticks may drop off in the car, at home, only to catch a ride again later.
