@carnage4life ah, the conveniently elusive morality of stealing. šŸ˜†
@carnage4life Well, one is protected by copyright while the other isn't, but that difference works against him, not for him
@carnage4life Remember: every major AI company has either admitted to or been plausibly caught pirating huge amounts of media when it became inconvenient to pay for it.
@carnage4life Wasn't their legal argument that when they scanned and uploaded all of those books it was fair use because it was "transformative". A judge ruled that using books this way was transformative and therefore fair use. So they now have to argue that distillation isn't transformative and therefore isn't fair use. Which seems like a real stretch and also pretty ridiculous.

@carnage4life

AI called the internet's bluff on freely available information, and it will be very funny if the big players go down the same way

@carnage4life

It is amazing how self awareness is so lacking here.

@carnage4life 'murican corpos stealing -> good because of superiority, national security or whatever bullshit they say that day.

Anyone else stealing from 'murican corpos -> really bad

@carnage4life Face eating panthers complain about having their faces eaten by a panther. *sigh*
@carnage4life libertarians hate it when other people are libertarians.
