This is promising regarding #voting by #USPS #mail

The Postmaster General’s testimony yesterday was inline with the #EO he was asked to follow. That hearing was a shit show.

From what I’ve heard from other postal people, the Federal Register comments on their proposed rule is likely to break the record on most comments at over 100,000. I got the impression from some that they were unofficially expecting it to fail due to litigation.

A federal judge in Massachusetts rules against parts of a Trump executive order intended to restrict voting by mail. https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mad.298518/gov.uscourts.mad.298518.191.0_1.pdf

My original thoughts on the proposed rule can be found here:

As for this court order, so long as it isn’t immediately overturned or delayed, it orders the PMG and many other postal people to stop work on this and stop their employees from working on this. Good.

They do mention that a rule change like this should also go through the PRC on a 90 day review, and that having not done this, how would they meet the July EO deadline?

Further, any data sharing would require a SOR per the Data Privacy Act, and nothing has been filed last I looked.
