Interview: Elon Musk, Marc Andreessen, et al say:

"I'll just spend hundreds of millions of dollars to buy the government outright... I can then have the government reward me with billions of dollars of contracts".

If the SEC, FTC or anyone else "is investigating my companies... I can just tell them to knock it off, & they'll do it."

20 years ago, Musk couldn't do that. But then SCOTUS said "we'll allow it."

Attack of the Trillionaire: Elon Musk's Fascist Clown Car

Dave Karpf joins the Nerd Reich pod to break down Musk's trillionaire status, Thiel's Argentina exit, and Palantir's fascist manifesto

The Nerd Reich

2.

Once they have that much money, "they don't need the rest of the populace. They can sort of oppress them or kill them off or whatever they need to do".

"They're not actively planning the genocides. But if the genocides happen, then, whoopsie, we saw with USAID, they're not even apologetic about that shit. People who read Ayn Rand & never got over it."

My worst nightmare is that the Dems are gonna believe, if & when they gain power, that they can act as though "we went through normal times & we are still in normal times"...

... We can work for with whoever's been installed. "As opposed to recognizing an authoritarian was in power & took over the entirety of the government & often handed the keys... to Palantir, to Elon, to a bunch of his friends."

@DrALJONES Chuck Schumer fully intends to talk longingly of the times he a Republicans could collaborate on policies that crush the working class while filling his bank account with bribes from corporations

@BLTpizza

Very well put ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

@DrALJONES I will likely get attacked for my opinion. We've already seen a taste of that from Biden's presidency.

There were, of course, strong indicators of what was planned. Even after J6, Biden chose the traditional bipartisan path.

Biden's mistake was not recognizing the path we're on wasn't paved by Trump. It's been paved by decades of developers that started with (or even before) Reagan. Trump is the surface problem; a tool. The threat is much deeper & must be dealt with accordingly.

@PattyHanson

Re "Biden's mistake was not recognizing the path we're on wasn't paved by Trump".

Biden was owned by the zionist billionaires as much as the entire Dem leadership over decades.

The same oligarchs own both parties.

@DrALJONES Well. That, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think many of us (me) had no idea that the state of Israel held huge control over decisions made by U.S. elected politicians.

It's not that I've had my head buried in the sand. I just believed the propaganda by the Democratic Party and its leaders.

I'll be the first to admit that I was ignorant to the level of corruption that exists in government.

I guess I didn't want to believe it, but when it slaps you in the face, it's pretty hard to ignore.

@PattyHanson

Yes, and, I guess, not all the buyers were Jewish. I guess. Maybe?

@DrALJONES @PattyHanson The issue is entirely separate from religion, yet Zionism has exploited Judaism to serve its own settler-colonial ideology.

@DrALJONES Oh, there have been & are other buyers.

I have read more & more of the property and American agricultural infrastructure that's been bought by the countries of the Middle East; aquifers in Arizona (Saudi Arabia), farmland across the midwest (China), refineries in Texas(Saudi Arabia or Qatar), and on & on.

We are an occupied nation, but not by a single occupier & the only way it could happen is for our own government (both parties) to manipulate legislation to allow it to occur.

@PattyHanson @DrALJONES

How many acres have been bought by Latin American refugees that are invading the US according to the Alt-Reich?

@PattyHanson @DrALJONES This testimony and admission of error is not merely an individual "awakening of conscience"; rather, it reflects a truth that is beginning to unfold before the entire world. Western political propaganda has long cloaked colonial interests in the rhetoric of "freedom and democracy." Today, howeverโ€”thanks to steadfast resilience and real-time documentation from Gazaโ€”the masks have fallen, exposing the corrupt system of influence that manipulates American politicians like chess pieces. An awakening, however belated, is better than none at all; the jolt that roused so many from the illusion of "Western justice" marks the beginning of the end for the hegemony of a single narrative. Today, the truth is being written in the blood of the oppressed and through the consciousness of free people.

@DrALJONES
Our best defense against that sort of convenient amnesia is to go hard left and upend the Democratic Party with the sort of folks Mayor Mandami has been supporting.

The existing Democratic Party leadership has proven that they are incapable of effective leadership or actual reform, so they have to go.

Support candidates who will Nuremberg the criminals currently in power.

It also should be obvious that getting corporate money out of political campaigns is essential in the long run. Rule by billionaires ain't cutting it.

@DrALJONES

out of curiosity I read Ayn Rand. Here's the thing. Everyone is entitled and no one is a worker in her novels. The women are all trad wives selling honey at the farmers market. The men all have big dreams that somehow manifest without labor. It's a fantasy. The lack of workers stood out because nothing happens without labor. Nothing gets built. Nothing gets made. But in her books that reality is a utopia.

@FranceskaMann

Yes. No one gets to grow up past puberty...

@FranceskaMann @DrALJONES

i'm no literary expert but what puzzles me about her work is ...

... how so many people over so many generations have given her and her work so much credibility and validity

the problem seems to be not the author but the sections of society that seem to want her fantasies to be true

@rzeta0

Re "...how so many people over so many generations have given her and her work so much credibility and validity"

Just follow the money.... (not just Greenspan's)

He was infatuated with Rand

@rzeta0

Re "the sections of society that seem to want her fantasies to be true"

There are always some people who're impoverished enough to be desperately seeking an economic saviour...

But the key point is about structural power. It's Capital, via buying govts, that determines how many of us they'll impoverish & to what degree. The creation of an underclass keeps workers in their place.

@FranceskaMann

@DrALJONES @FranceskaMann

100%

"The creation of an underclass keeps workers in their place."

This poverty-by-design, this disadvantage-by-design, this precarious-life--by-design is what makes me a Marxist.
