Earlier today I posted a photo of a juvenile Belted Kingfisher. This photo of a female Kingfisher was taken on the same day and she is on the same branch as the juvenile so I assume that she is the mother. There were 4 Kingfishers fishing in the river.

@CatherineBabault Was it raining or are those little flies?

Amazing to get a still shot. Kingfishers in my areas just mock me. As soon as I’m about to press the shutter, they’re gone. :)

@CStamp Light rain and perfect light. :)

I have had a similar experience as yours with Kingfishers until that day. They are challenging to photograph.
