Definitely pulled a muscle in my back from bicycling. Sigh. I'll survive. It's been bothering me for a few days, but discovered I make it worse and exactly what muscle when I get on a bike. If you have a first world bathtub, give yourself a soak in Epsom salts (10 oz.) An economical way to soothe strained muscles.
Plan to entertain your mind with music or podcasts. Before bed is good, just remember to change venue before sleeping.

This is absolutely the way to go for muscle pain! I got into a super hot tub filled with Epsom salts after every ultra and woke up feeling almost like new. Also, turmeric is a cheap and effective anti-inflammatory.
