This is the best progress I’ve made attempting to grow Seminole Pumpkin so far. This is only the first pumpkin to develop so I shouldn’t proclaim success this early on, but already this is much better than I’ve been able to achieve in the past. #gardening #Florida #zone10
My one and only Seminole pumpkin is just about ready to harvest. This plant only produced one mature female flower. There were a couple of immature female buds that dropped before they could blossom and then all of the blossoms since then have been male. The plant is still going strong despite some pest damage. Let’s see what happens. We’ve been eating the leaves, too. It’s a beautiful pumpkin. #gardening #Zone10 #Florida #heirloom
@PermaSolarPotter Beautiful! I have been growing pumpkins and squashes now for 8 years in The relatively cool Dutch climate. Generally with a satisfactory success, but it is still a mystery to me why suddenly (some) plants decide only to make male flowers.
