To form an opinion beyond the LinkedIn circle-jerking and the grand speeches from tech’s peacocks and turkeys, I spent two evenings "vibe-coding" an iOS app from scratch (using OpenCode and Claude Sonnet 4.6).

I’ve drawn some harsh conclusions:
- for my specific needs, it works
- the code is exhausting to read through
- above all, it’s cold and soulless
- this code belongs to someone else, not me

I’m bored, and it’s making me lazy delegating everything without any pleasure or excitement.

Is THAT the future? Burning up the planet for THAT?

At what cost will we destroy our home, lose our souls, and render ourselves invisible to satisfy shareholders, paper-pushers, and other tech bigots?

Generative AI, in its crudest form, is a cancer.

It relies on LLMs fueled by predatory, neo-colonial practices that steal from, harm, exploit, and plagiarize human beings.

It renders others obsolete - mere soulless intermediaries existing only to state intentions and force themselves to proofread.

It marks the absolute decline of the Work, of humanity, of craftsmanship, and of our future.

It is the laziness of the soul in pursuit of the almighty dollar, condemning the future that awaits us.

I am a craftsman.
I am an artist.

Like anyone else, I put a part of myself into what I do.

Not into this monstrosity I can barely recognize as my own.

What if we burned something other than the planet?
