Secretly looking forward to this entire population of people who use AI to answer all of their questions because they're going to look stupid AF if they need to answer anything in person.
@Alice HR will become the gatekeepers of tomorrow! 😆

@benjamincox Yeah, but I'm not ONLY referring to jobs.

People are using AI for EVERYTHING. They just ask AI a question, AI spits out an answer that may or may not be correct, they take it as truth, and that's that.

Nobody knows how to research or even critically think anymore.

@Alice

Every time I watch an ad for an AI powered writing tool, I wonder how these people will manage IRL without those prompts.

"You can fool some of the people some of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time."
- usually attributed to Abe Lincoln

@Alice
I'm waiting for the first run of failed construction projects when it turns out the new architects and builders used AI across the board and no one actually understands the concepts that uphold our ability to build megaprojects well enough.
@Cassandra_Complex @Alice I keep thinking this when I hear about some university students using AI so much. Like, you're going to end up not actually knowing about the thing you hold a degree in, so won't actually get a job it with, and you've incurred a massive debt to get there! Great work.
@beecycling @Alice
Exactly, and if they get hired just because they have the degree and the paperwork, we get into a worse position where all the people who understood the concepts die or retire and no one knows. I guarantee we'll see a "sorry the bridge failed, the AI said it should stand up fine!"
@Cassandra_Complex @Alice Employers are going to have to institute "Figure out if this person actually knows how to be an engineer" tests before taking on recently qualified people.
@Alice totally called the shot
@Alice remember the miss usa contest such as like uhm such as?
@Alice
Let’s face it, people like me are going to look stupid AF either way 🤷
