“I think a lot of Canadians would agree, even if they don’t like Mr. Poilievre, that, he’s right, things aren’t getting a lot better,” [said David Enns of Léger] “They may start to sort of give him a little more credit as time goes on… And I think that’s what he’s sort of banking on.”

Thunderclouds are on the horizon in Carney's long, hot political summer

With the looming Alberta pipeline application, trade discussions on CUSMA and several MP resignations, he will have a lot on his plate.

I hope that the Canadian government will be able to negotiate a beneficial extension to #CUSMA, and if they succeed than we'll have to give much credit to Prime Minister #MarkCarney. To be honest though, I don't expect that we'll reach a deal, and then it will only be fair to second-guess the PM's negotiating strategy.

@mpjgregoire
I think we will get a deal because trump has finally been politically depowered, the yankee economy is crashing and needs every lift it can get, and we are key to so many us businesses and states they need to try mitigate their Wile E Coyote cliff fall. They will talk tough and threaten, but they need us like we still need them. I expect they will try to leverage all trade to somehow benefit oil, eliminating oil regulations will be an adequate win for them.
@mpjgregoire may we long live in a country where it is always fair to second-guess the government.
