He started writing for teevee in 1950, before many people even had a teevee. He oversaw the entire development of that industry.
He's contributed what are considered some of the greatest comedy films of all time to the public headcanon. "Blazing Saddles" was honest about American racism is a way you could never get away with today.
Plus, he went overseas and killed fucking nazis.
Honor this guy while we still got him.
