@ApaulD The temperatures now reached in #UK are terrifyingly abnormal. I cannot begin to imagine how dreadful and scary it must be to the people trying to adapt. They grow up concentrating most of the year on keeping warm and dry. England was my home country, wet and cold very often but green and generally comfortable.
Coming to #Aus I expected and adapted to higher temperatures and Australia understands how to manage heat. But even here it is climbing unexpectedly.
Yet #Labor still approves and encourages fossil fuel and coal mines?
Betrayal.

I can remember seeing a statistic quoted by John Cadogan that claimed that the amount of carbon dioxide in methane discharged into the atmosphere directly from open cut mining is 20 or 30 times more than what is discharged by diesel and petrol powered vehicles.

He uses this as part of his argument against most EVs and LiPo battery manufacture and disposal.

Mind you, JC really has a bee in his bonnet about all electric vehicles generally.

Apart from that I find him really interesting to listen to.

Yes, there are environmental impacts from renewable/electrification efforts. But they are much less than maintaining the fossil fuel status quo.

My daughter’s Corolla got rear ended and written off so now they’ve got a BYD Atto. Lovely car.
