They look to have all some aspect of LLM, unfortunately

Senior backend engineer (the kind of thing I would do):
"Implementing AI-assisted answers and integrating them into our Search product"
Not evil? Ha! Hahaha!
@toriver @drewph @evacide After Google I'd hoped everyone would have learned. A search engine needs to be saying one of:
1. "We are not a business. We will not be run as a business, and here is how we intend to fund operations without being a business", or
2. "We are a business. Here is the way we make money and here is how we've set that up so that it does not conflict with your interests as a user of the service."
"Um, we're doing exactly like old Google with pinky-promises about 'evil' and no clear legitimate way to make money, and actively partnering with them and Microsoft to repackage their results" does not cut it.
@ariaflame @MongooseStudios @drewph @evacide
Qwant and Startpage do that a lot better !
@harib_murshidi @[email protected] @MongooseStudios @evacide
Fuck Qwant.
@drewph @MongooseStudios @evacide
Hey, that does not happen with me and I am literally sitting in a shithole (#Pakistan) but I guess you should use startpage then 🤷♂️
Implementing AI-assisted answers and integrating them into our Search product while maintaining our privacy-first approach
What is their tech stack? Various job descriptions list perl, node.js, python, go, kotlin, c#, swift. Are there any languages they won't use?
I'll have to consider this. Pay is a lot better than what I'm used to, and if I want to work for an American company, DDG is probably better than most.
@grumpydad
And we have to grade the acceptable level of “not evil” that we're willing to apply to :/
@evacide Not evil? Then this seems like a good time to remind people that duckduckgo:
1. Is building planet-roasting, de-skilling AI
2. Is lying about censoring adult-oriented results
DDG's no google, but they're just another shitty tech company in my book.
