@woj [looks at Tuesday's weather forecast]
Nope.
@woj (I'd signed up to run a TTRPG one-shot at our local games cafe, long before this forecast. I'm not quite regretting it, but ...
At least they have A/C, but they don't open until mid-afternoon, so I can't head over in the morning and then shelter until they close.)
@woj @SimonLandmine I'm not looking forward to Tusday (35 degrees), and Wednesday (36 degrees) doing a 10 hour shift in a place with no air con, and windows that catch the afternoon sun.
I've got some little cartons of coconut water in the freezer to take to work which will hopefully help as they'll melt but still be cold through out the day.
@SimonLandmine @woj I have repurposed a laptop left by some builders a few years ago (technically donated to the staff, which I guess I am one of), by err using hiren's boot cd to hack the admin password, and then wiping the hard drive and sticking Kubuntu 26.4 on it. I hopefully can work in the basement and remote into the computer I normally work on which will be in a room on the top floor and be so hot even with a fan that my brain stops braining a bit.
@ogili @woj Yeah, my brain doesn't brain in hot weather. Fortunately half of my place is a semi-basement, so it stays a few degrees cooler than the upper half. Good luck with the remoting plan - I've recommended similar to a friend whose home office is in their attic - it hits the high thirties when the ambient temperature is in the twenties, so ...
@SimonLandmine @spiny @woj fuuuuuuuck, it's a good thing this climate change is just a liberal conspiracy /s
@woj @ogili @SimonLandmine I will certainly help you test that out in the coming days. we're due a 40c day if my app is to be believed 😩
@woj @SimonLandmine yeah, wet towel in the fridge on the back of the kneck is a winner.
@soundclamp @woj @SimonLandmine indeed you did!
