Our intro, and question from @bobjonkman:

Q1. Where are you posting from today?

How much emergency money do you carry on your bike rides? (Comes in handy for emergency ice cream)

Different amounts for commuting than for day trips? Multi-day trips?

Ready to set off on a two day trip to Welsh coast

Real money - not much now. In UK almost every where takes plastic - I encounter more vendors who don't deal with cash than don't take plastic .

This is especially common with small one person businesses like food stall, coffee kiosks, etc (the staple of wandering cyclists). There is an overhead percentage but no need for float, ease of accounting, and no fear of thug with knife days work

Just checked - I have GBP 25, credit card and debit card in wallet. I should also have gbp50 in saddle bag and 20 quid rolled up within handlebars.

I literally cannot remember the last time I paid cash for anything - but I think it was my library fines a few months back

@MatthewNewell

Dumb question. Is GBP and quid the same thing? I was under the impression it was.
