Toblerphone
@Natasha_Jay
I'd have had one of these if I had known of it.
@Natasha_Jay
I really miss the days where household items were designed for individuality 🥲

@mora
I've thought of posting that one, you know? But it's a photoshop though I love it a lot.
@Natasha_Jay Is this real or is it Nanoraptor?
@Vaneshi
Real. I've used them a long time ago.
@Natasha_Jay Good to know, thought it'd escaped lol :D
@Natasha_Jay why does this look to me like the left-handed version? Did they make them both ways?
@ShadSterling
I'm right handed. I pick up a receiver in my left hand, dial with my right hand. Also leaves the right hand available to write.
@Natasha_Jay huh, maybe I’m right-eared or something, I’m right handed, but holding the handset with my left hand feels really strange. Most of the land-line phones I’ve used have been the kind with the buttons on the handset, or under the handset, maybe I just did the first step with my right hand and got used to it
@Natasha_Jay The way the headset and cord are normal when they could have been triangular (even though I know it would have been very expensive/niche/form-over-function) are is mildly aggravating to me.
@Natasha_Jay the buttons should stick out with points that hurt your fingers

Looking back at Soviet Union’s technology, what first comes to mind is the Sputnik, the Soyuz spacecraft, aircraft such as the Tupolev 144 (the famous “Concordski”), or huge nuclear submarines. Wha…

@Natasha_Jay for making peak rate calls only.
@Natasha_Jay That would be great for my 80's room. On the hunt! Found this one on Etsy, bit pricey though.

@Natasha_Jay If you don’t like the 2023 change of the Toblerone packaging. Blame my school mate. He did the redesign!
@BenCotterill @Natasha_Jay I liked it, tell him "good work"!

@Natasha_Jay it's a phone shaped like the cross-section of an Apatosaurine sauropod dinosaur neck!

@Natasha_Jay Link! The triforce... it scattered into even more pieces!
@Natasha_Jay if they made a modern version of this today, the only buttons they’d only put on it would be 1, 5, and 9.
@Natasha_Jay only comes with fixed swiss telephone cord hard-wored to it!

@Natasha_Jay The 80s was a golden time for triangular home objects.
@Natasha_Jay
Und wer hats erfunden?
Na, ... die Schweizer natürlich. 🙂

@Natasha_Jay This was, of course, designed for right-handers: you hold the handset in your left hand to leave the right free to push buttons, make notes, whatever.

Most phones are made that way round, but on most you can at least put the handset on the other way around, or it's designed to be picked up with either hand. This one, on the other *hand*, is aggressively unusable by lefties.

@Natasha_Jay Please don't give the advertising industry, any more ideas.

Triad
