Police killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley on the false claim his mother stole diapers. His killer is on paid leave & his ID is hidden.

Police killed 7-year-old Aiyana Jones as she slept in her living room. Her murderer Joseph Weekley walked free.

Police killed 11-year-old Tamir Rice as he played in a park. HIs murderer Timothy Loehmann walked free.

America's carceral system treats Black children like chattel because the system isn't broken—it's working exactly as intended. And that's the problem.

@QasimRashid in Canada the police are corrupt towards everyone who is not part of their cult, and the cult isn't only white. The cult has formed through marriages which amalgamate the membership of corrupt actors further. Together with other family/cult members they conspire and hold rank across public and private corporations.

@dckim

sure but in this case in Senatopia, it's flat out racism, even in Mississippi, cops do not shoot white people on a complaint from another shopper that MAYBE a woman with a baby had diapers and MAYBE the diapers were shoplifted

there's a procedure to deal with suspected shoplifters & shooting babies or even adults is not it

i mean, c'mon...

@peachfront yeah, it's true, overt racism in the United States is something very different from what is here in Canada. Not to say that it doesn't exist here.

My personal experience while traveling to visit my cousin in Indianapolis was a revelation to me, seeing the separate Black communities was very strange to me. It's different when you see it first hand.

My cousin explained that when it is a black neighbourhood, white people simply will not buy houses there.

So it's a grassroots racism.

@QasimRashid

on top of murdering a BABY while shooting through the passenger side of a car while the car was driving AWAY from the cowardly officer who did this... the police later came back & teargassed the members of the community who stood up in protest... it's a shameful display of hate & racism that should have been left behind centuries ago

this really should be getting more national coverage but apparently no one expects anything different from the police these days...
