The last decades have been a bloody horrifying eye opener though. I'm sure there are lovely people over there, but in general we seem to fundamentally disagree on the whole "in the same boat" thing. Be it across country or across allied nations.

There are millions of wonderful people here. Many of whom are working hard against the onslaught of the MAGA cult and the predators who are taking advantage of the political tides. Unfortunately, there are also millions whom support Trump and millions whom are indifferent or can't be inconvenienced to resist or fight back. 🙁
