This is where we run into a problem with the "tax them" solution: we do not live in an actual democracy in which we can expect "our representatives" to rule on behalf of the working class. As we have seen, the ruling class, the 1%, will only ever do the bare minimum and only when pressured. Then they will claw it all back.

Relying on the same political system as we have for 250 years is a mistake that will never get us our solution.

Rather than rely on taxing the wealthy, the actual solution, the only real solution, is to abolish the system (that they own) which they use to further consolidate their wealth and power.

And that is why we really need to discuss scary words that USians will avoid at all costs: REVOLUTION and #SOCIALISM. Anything else is kicking the can down the road to avoid the actual, deep, systemic problem of hierarchy and a ruling class.

Our task is to organize a social revolution and build a new system from the ground up.

The thing is, the system has taxation as The way to redistribute wealth created in the system. As an interim solution, it's better than violence.

@vor
Our system is deeply, systemically violent. We are immersed in this daily violence.

Everyday violence is done upon people but we call it business and we tolerate it. We call it capitalism and complain, but we accept it.

No, we live within a deeply violent system. And it will only ever be a deeply violent system because the side that is winning owns the propaganda machine, they define the terms of the game and they have since 1776 when they excluded women and black folk from participating.

It's a system built on the violence of genocide and slavery.

I would urge you to take a long look at how it came to be that you could suggest that we're not currently in violence. If you've never read Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States" I would urge you to do so. He makes the violence very easy to see... both domestic as well as abroad in what we call "foreign policy".

We're losing a violent class war because we refuse to see and acknowledge the violence.

My long look begins in #Texas, where I'm living with my wife.

I'm a little #old #blind #transgender man who does not want to sanction #violence in #writing because my #government, both #state and #federal, already consider me unfit for purpose and surplus to need.

I work within my #risk #tolerance. We all should work within our risk tolerances.

If you think that you are somehow informing me of anything that I was previously unaware of, ask yourself *why* you believe this to be true.

My particular point is specifically regarding violence toward the #EpsteinClass. Violence toward the #owners and their minion #bosses.

My degree isn't in #mathematics, but I understand percentages.

My degree isn't in #history, but I understand how a #revolution might start.

My degree isn't in #economics or #medicine but I understand that the only thing that grows forever is #cancer.
