Oh! I missed that the mormons were not on the list of approved religions!

Kegsbreath screwed the pooch there. They have power. Not an LDS fan, but the enemy of my enemy kind of applies here.😜

Correction: the LDS is on the list but not as Christians. Still a big yikes for the Sec. of Beer.

@LeslieBurns
They're approved. They're just not included as Christian.

The LDS believe the godhead are three distinct beings. That's the sticking point.

Are Latter-day Saints Christian? The U.S. Defense Department doesn’t appear to think so.

LDS Church left off Department of Defense’s list of Christian religions.

@katrinakatrinka @LeslieBurns I more commonly hear that the LDS doctrine that god has ancestors and siblings makes the LDS polytheistic and therefore not Christian. Never mind that in LDS theology, “god” is more like “father”, and we would only have the one, even if other similar beings exist.

This from the same people who assert Catholics aren’t Christians because people pray to saints for intercession. They just figure the LDS aren’t a big enough bloc to be worth appeasing anymore, while the Catholics still are.
