Careful as I try to be, I've twice recently found my Hakko vacuum desoldering unit left plugged in at my workbench for what had to be a couple days. Bugs me that it doesn't have any kind of sleep/timeout mechanism.

Occurred to me tonight to pop it on a spare smart plug I had and, in about two minutes, I had Home Assistant turning it off any time it's been on for 20 mins (I rarely need it that long in a session) and every time my workroom lights get turned off. #electronics #HomeAssistant
