I have like zero respect left for developers who use LLMs to write or maintain their software.

I don't even care for the reasons why they use this unethical piece of... technology.

Technology trained on data they don't own. Technology owned and shaped by fascists. Technology that sends its crawlers around the globe to suck every bit they can find to dump their models into big f***ing corp data centers. Data centers that are polluting the air with their big ass gas plants.

But hey! "Leave ethics aside". "That's how software development works today!".

I'm so sick of this and about everyone supporting this industry.

If you feel targeted, you are welcome. I have zero respect for you or your software garbage. I just wish you the worst.

I think I will host my own GoToSocial instance. It's time to leave Mastodon and its AI codebase behind. GoToSocial seems like the right place for me. I hope to find time this week to set everything up.

This seems interesting, and I appreciate the truth that centralization is still the tendency here, even so as decentralization is the theme.

I like the idea that the instances themselves should not become overly populous.

I would also say, for myself, that I never like the follower/following dynamic, and would prefer user-determined input to control the Trending Tab.

@mohammedDavid GoToSocial is like Mastodon part of the Fediverse. It implements ActivePub. So it's a great, private alternative to Mastodon without LLM generated code.

This is how I understand it. But I'll set it up, just for me, and then I can see if it's for me

@lil5 I will narrow it down to Akkoma vs GoToSocial. Misskey has a Japanese agents.md file, that's at least sus :) But thanks for the alternatives.

TBH GoToSocial looks pretty juicy
