Despite the relatively low number of arthropods seen in Mallorca, I do have a bunch of other pictures to share.

Starting with this fellow, seen with its lunch in a dark corner of the outdoor grill area (hence the poor photos).

It's a Half-edged Wall Jumping Spider (Menemerus semilimbatus), widespread in the Mediterranean.

This dead rhinoceros beetle was another unfortunate victim of the swimming pool, hence the slightly bedraggled look.

Pretty sure it's in genus Pentodon, but given the location, it could be P. bidens or P. algerinus.

I'm not well-enough versed in beetles to be able to separate them – let me know if you can.

Another soggy pool-dipping (but alive!) insect where I think I have the genus, but ID'ing the species is hard.

This is likely a Eurasian field grasshopper, genus Chorthippus, but there are several kinds on Mallorca, including C. jacobsi & C. brunneus, both of which similar to this one.

Again, if you know ... 🦗

Finally for now ... these orange & black spotted beetles were among the most common things in the garden, & yet somehow I kept ignoring them, only getting a few poor pictures.

They're genus Lachnaia, but could be L. pubescens, L. paradoxa, or L. tristigma: I'm not sure the pictures are good enough to be definitive.

It's also entirely possible, of course, that I had all three kinds of these beetles in the garden, but wasn't expert enough to tell the difference when looking at them.

In my defence, they were quite shy, running or flying away if I got too close. But there were a lot of them, so perhaps I kept putting off photographing them properly until it was too late – none are found on this side of the Alps.
