The first episode of Spider-Noir (noir version) was very good.

When this project was announced, I rolled my eyes, probably literally.

The first trailer immediately changed my mind, and the follow ups only increased my anticipation.

If the rest of the series matches this premise, I'm going to enjoy myself. Maybe a lot.

And I generally don't like Nicholas Cage, as an actor or human.

Three episodes in, and it's a really good show. This could turn out to be great.

Spider-Noir needs to be watched in Black and White because it's absolutely beautiful.

Even if you watch the full color version, as I probably will, please watch it in B&W, it's amazing.

The dialogue, production design, acting, humor, and story are very well done.

Though noir isn't technically mid-30's, I love how they combine 30's gangster and 40's noir elements.

The subtle and explicit social, economic, cultural, and political (*everything* is political) elements are handled beautifully, seamlessly blended into the story, as these things are in reality.

Sometimes merely commented on, sometimes left in the background, sometimes hammered home.

Spider-Noir has a style of realism, like #ThePenguin and #Andor that elevates it.

#MCU: Take note.

The music in the first three episodes of Spider-Noir is pretty good, including the show's theme song, some nice arrangements of standards, and, I think, an original song, referenced as such in the dialogue, but I haven't checked to confirm or refute.

Episodes four and five don't really have (#diagetic) music.

I haven't (yet?) found any element of the show that isn't at least good, or better.
