does anyone know a stunning monospace font not found in this list ?

a font that you can draw ascii-art and display an array of niche characters without glitching the text interface !

#font #gnu #tech #technology #unixporn

@onokoto nope but I'm happy hack made it on that list :) it's my go-to font when ever possible.

@onokoto i’m not sure if it’s monospace but the Airbus instrument panel font is pretty nice too

@bakachu open source is so awesome ... i mean a font designed for planes xD how bunkers is that ー i wonder why font pages don't have a screenshots of how it looks ?! that would be so useful
@onokoto well of course depends on your taste, there is Terminus and "Envy Code R", and a more similar font to the ones you listed is Roboto Mono.
If you want a lot of 'special characters' you should use their Nerd Fonts patched version
@maop i always wondered what NERD stood for with fonts thanks !

@onokoto

designed for ASCII art (but it does have a bit of a “personality”):

otherwise, https://www.programmingfonts.org/ is a good resource – bottom-right of the left column, change language from “Python” to “ASCII Art”

Libre fonts for everyone

@cerement i don't know why ー but the font should be called ANXIETY with all the woobling xD
@onokoto I’ve just switched to Iosevka Charon Mono myself and quite enjoy it for its friendly charm.
@kai iosevka didn't past the test of time for me ー i find it too narrow for a terminal screen it takes time to get used to it and others when looking at it for the first time feel weird
@onokoto Interesting. I use it for writing manuscripts in Latex rather that the command line, and had specifically searched for a narrow font for this purpose. But it had only been weeks, not month, so now I’m curious to see how I’ll like it in a couple of months.
@kai i see ー i live and breath in the terminal that's why ー if i'd been using latex i would have probably chose iosevka as well

@onokoto
Recursive Mono (I've settled on this for now)

OG Iosevka is missing. Maple Mono and Geist
