After reading books 1 to 4 of "The Murderbot Diaries" by Martha Wells in German, I am now starting all over again, this time in English. I also have books 5 to 7 on my pile to read.

For some reason I cannot really explain, I can read the English version more easily. The German translation seems to be rather "wordy".

@amalia12 Same with me, I just completed the original books and loved it. There are so many terms used that cannot be lossless translated IMHO.

@taak Yes, and in the German translation the translator changed Murderbot's pronoun from "it" to "she", because "the secunit" (German: "die Sicherheitseinheit") is female in German.

@taak Yes, I wasn't happy with that choice, and I am glad that I can easily read the books in English.
